To provide a credible and authoritative assessment of our progress, Office Depot prefers to ensure that all of its achievements are recognised via independent awards, accreditations and partnerships with leading organisations.

ISO 14001 certified since 2003
ISO certification ensures an ongoing audit (internal and external) and review process. It's a sign of a commitment to consistently improve our processes and impact on the environment.
Winners of the 2008 BSI ISO14001 Innovation Award
The judges were really impressed with the way in which Office Depot had embedded the motto ‘Buy Green, Be Green, Sell Green’ into its every day business practices. Also the work that is done for their customers to reduce the environmental impacts of their purchases was felt to be incredibly valuable and innovative; namely the Enlighten website and environmental spend analysis reports.
Green Apple Awards winner 2006, 2007 and 2008
The Green Apple Awards are national awards hosted by the Green Organisation. Office Depot was delighted to pick up an award for the third consecutive year.

In 2007, we won two Green Apple awards based on:
- Making Environmental Procurement Easy: this covers the introduction of the Green Book, the waste management programme, detailed management information and the wide range of products and services we offer to assist customers in being environmentally responsible.
- Sustainable Design of New Headquarters: this covers the design and construction of our new headquarters in Leicester. A comprehensive project that looked at every angle of creating an entirely sustainable development. Click here for more details on the project.
