I started Office Depot in May 2004 on the Data Entry Team and in February 2006 I was promoted to a Customer Service Representative on the Retail Team. During my time I've won the “Who Did It For You?” awards 2007 and I also came 3rd place in the Champion’s Circle 2007 (this is a competition where the best performing associates of Office Depot win a luxury 4-day break).

In January I was promoted to the New Store Starter Pack Team.

I was nominated this year for the National Customer Service Awards as "Young Customer Service Professional of the Year" and have made it to one of the last ten finalists. The results are announced in September and I'm really excited.

 

My job is to process on the system new store orders that the customer requires and to ensure there are no problems with the order and that the customer is aware of any items out of stock or no longer available.

Once I have placed the order for the customer I send over all the details to the relevant people, this order is then consolidated and sent to the customer. The reason these orders are consolidated is to ensure that all goods arrive with the customer at the same time. As you can imagine there are many items which come from different depots or direct from the supplier.

Very high communication is required as these packs are of paramount importance, if a store is scheduled to open and they have no till rolls the result is disastrous.

I work closely with Account Managers to ensure the process is running smoothly and the customer is happy with the facility.

 

I have also been given the role of Sales Champion for the Belvedere site. I am extremely passionate about my role. Previously it has been very hard to motivate Customer Services to offer customers additional products and services that might benefit them due to the nature of our contract accounts. I have put together initiatives to both boost the confidence within Customer Service and ensure the customer benefits. 

 

I love the fact that everyone has the opportunity to progress within Office Depot and are praised for the work that they do.

 

I love building a rapport with my customers and motivating and encouraging my work colleagues.

 

I love the feeling of knowing that my customers are happy with the service that I am providing.
